EIT InnoEnergy new shareholder in CaCharge
European innovation engine for sustainable energy EIT InnoEnergy invests in CaCharge.
“InnoEnergy’s partnership is strategically important for CaCharge’s European expansion, says CaCharge CEO, Kurt Högnelid.
CaCharge’s electric vehicle charging solution, including charging station, services and operations packaged in one complete solution, is optimized to allow operators with many charging sites, such as real estate companies, tenant-owner associations and municipalities, to be able to offer a number of charging sites without any administrative costs. CaCharge’s power control evens out power peaks and cuts costs.
“InnoEnergy is the best springboard out there now that CaCharge is entering into partnerships with utilities in Europe. InnoEnergy has in-depth knowledge of the European energy market and will be encouraging cooperation in the energy sector”, says CEO of CaCharge, Kurt Högnelid.
“CaCharge´s EV charging solutions are well positioned in a market entering into a long period of strong growth. We are therefore keen to increase our involvement in CaCharge and become a shareholder. Large-scale electrification of the vehicle fleet requires charging infrastructure investments to be profitable and enable charging when and where EV owners’ prefer to charge – namely when the cars are parked, at home or at work. CaCharge offers complete solutions for smart charging of multiple vehicles within the available power capacity. Combined with a clever business model, EV charging is made both simple and profitable for property owners, tenant-owners associations and car parking operators”, says Markus Berglund, Business Creation Manager at EIT InnoEnergy.

CaCharge was founded in 2015 by ICT entrepreneurs and business developers Kurt Högnelid, Louise Kierkegaard and Tomas Öquist.

With our network of partners, we build connections across Europe, bringing together inventors and industry, graduates and employers, researchers and entrepreneurs, businesses and markets.
We work in three essential areas of the innovation mix:
